8/28/2025 Check out is fast and easy. Taxi to the airport. It's around 7:00 am. Cost33.00€/$38.45 Our flight is Iberia#0571 which departs Madrid Airport, terminal 4 at 9:55 am and arrives Paris/Orly at 11:55 am, terminal 1 of Orly Airport. Cost 106.80€/$ per person. I had also paid 10.00€/ per person for seat selection. On a side note we didn't get the seats I had paid for so Iberia did issue a refund. We are able to check in one of our carry on bags due to an e-mail I had received from Iberia. Flight is uneventful

From there we get a taxi to St. Lazare train station. Cost From here we are going to Bayeux. Our train is scheduled to depart at 3:58 pm. Due to arrive in Bayeux at 6:12 pm. Cost for the 2 of us round trip 93.20€/$105.26 We will return to Paris 0n 8/31/2025. While in the train station I left Richard with all our luggage while I went to check to find out which area/platform our train will depart. All of a sudden I hear a commotion. Richard is on the floor with the luggage scattered around him. There are 2 staff members SCNF with him. Carlos and Hala. I hurry over as I'm really upset/scared. Richard is trying to tell everyone that he was leaning on the luggage when one of the bags just fell over and he went down with it. By now there's 2 EMT type persons checking him out. He finally manages to assure everyone he's fine. Incident report made. We're told to sit in the waiting area where we are and they will come to get us to assist us onto the train. I'm still a bit shaky but Richard tells me he's fine. I spot a MacDonald's so I go to get some food for us. Cheeseburger, fries, coke. Cost Richard helps me eat. We both feel better.

Time to board the train. Carlos and Hala SCNF staff help us and our luggage to the train. They make sure our luggage is stowed and we're in our seats. I take a picture of us. They have been wonderful. Pleasant journey to Bayeux up until we get to Bayeux. We're scrambling to get off the train and there's a guy telling a girl she's in the wrong seat so he's blocking our way to get to the doors to exit the train! When we finally get past him the doors close and the guy just tells us to get off at the next station and come back to this station. But all he had to do was to push the button to reopen the doors here at Bayeux to allow us to get off! We're really pissed.
There's no one at this next station and no way for us to figure out how to buy tickets to return to Bayeux. A guy waiting for his train tells us to just explain the situation if we're asked. We board the train. No one comes to check that we have tickets and we get off the train at Bayeux. It's now

Hotel De Brunville & Spa. We arrive around 7:30 pm. We will stay here from 8/28-8/31/2025. 3 nights. Cost 473.26€/$552.20 We check in with no issues and are told the entrance to our part of this hotel complex is outside and around the corner. We are given a passcode that will open the door to allow us entry so we can get to our room. Our room is #101.

Le Pommier. Dinner. I had made a reservation for 8:30 pm. I call to let them know we're running late but will be there soon. Taxi to dinner. Cost 8.00€/9.32 We arrive at 9:00 pm. There's only a few people left at tables having dinner. I'm told not to worry about being late. We both get Morocco Spirit-green tea. I ordered the pan fried beef fillet in Kampot pepper sauce. Richard chose the salmon salad. Food is delicious and service is spot on. No complaints. Very happy we chose this place. For dessert I really wanted to try the apple pie but I am full with no room left. I'm disappointed. Cost 81.00€/ By the time we're leaving everyone else has gone so we were the last ones left at this restaurant! Taxi back to our hotel Cost 8.00€/$9.32 It's 10:00 pm and we are exhausted. It's been a long day.
