9/19/2025 Buckingham Palace, dinner-apartment

9/19/2025  I don't have any pictures so I'm not sure if we had breakfast at the apartment or not.

Buckingham Palace.  I have booked us tickets.  State Rooms at 12:15 pm.  The Royal Mews at 3:00 pm.  I also included a souvenir guide with my purchase.  Total cost 105.00£/$142.58    Uber to our event.  Cost 18.51£/$25.29   Very busy-traffic.  Lots of people.  Not sure where we're supposed to go to enter.  Asked a police person who was not friendly at all but told us to cross the street and walk to the left.  We did so and came upon the entrance.  Presented my voucher and received tickets for State Rooms and Royal Mews.  Also got the official souvenir guide book.  Through security-fine.  No pictures allowed inside the palace.  There's a set route to take to tour the State Rooms.  Very crowded.  No places to sit and rest for Richard.  I'm just not overjoyed with this and not loving the experience.   By the time we got to the end I was feeling sick.  We did do the obligatory picture with the current royals at the end.  I decided to forgo our visit for the Royal Mews.  I don't feel well at all.  Of course there's a gift shop at the end.  But I'm not interested in looking around at all.  That's how awful I was feeling.  I regret that as at the very least I would have bought postcards especially since pictures weren't allowed. And to make matters worse there's a very long way that we have to walk upon exiting to get to the street where we could get a taxi back to the apartment.  You exit at the back of the Palace.  The grounds were impressive.  I had to stop, sit and rest quite a lot along the way.  Finally taxi back to the apartment.  Cost 20.40£/$27.88  This day has been a bust.  We spent a bit more than 2 hours at Buckingham Palace.

These are pictures from our 2008 trip.  We were at the front of Buckingham Palace.  Never went inside.

I was so much younger back then!

Back at the apartment I'm still not feeling well.  Richard goes to Sainsbury and picks up some cans of     soup and some over the counter medicine for me.  I'm disappointed because for dinner we were               supposed to go to Light of India for some Indian food.  And here I am having soup!

I'm hoping I'll feel better tomorrow because a day trip to Greenwich is the plan.  Walking today was 1.35 miles but to me it felt like 10!
