Conciergerie. A medieval royal palace that became a revolutionary court and Marie Antoinette's prison. UNESCO World Heritage Site. Two large medieval halls remain from the royal palace. During the French Revolution more than 2,700 prisoners including Marie Antoinette were imprisoned, tried, and sentenced at the Conciergerie and then were sent to different sites to be executed by the guillotine. Marie Antoinette's cell was lavish compared to the other prisoners. She even had a chapel. Many things belonging to her are on display. It's now a national monument and museum. Audio/video guide included for the visit. Combo ticket with Sainte Chapelle. Cost $57.99 Time of entry 10:30 am. I bought several postcards. Cost 6.00€. After our visit here we walked to Sainte Chapelle.

Sainte Chapelle. Royal chapel-Gothic style. Located Ile de la Cite. Residence of Kings of France until the 14th century. Construction began 13th century and the chapel was consecrated on 4/26/1248. Commissioned by King Louis IX of France to house his collection of Passion relics including Christ's claimed Crown of Thorns. This was later held in Notre Dame and thankfully survived the 2019 fire. Has one of the most extensive 13th century stained glass collections anywhere in the world. I was able to get a wheelchair for Richard which made his visit a bit easier. I bought some postcards. Notre Dame. Cathedral of Our Lady of Paris. Medieval. Located on Ile de Cite. 4th arrondissement of Paris. Cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Paris. Construction began 1163. Consecrated 1182. Relics-Crown of Thorns, nail from the True Cross, sliver from the True Cross. UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dedicated to the Virgin Mary. French Gothic architecture. Use of rib vault and flying buttress. Gargoyles. Historical and cultural landmark. Napolean's coronation, featured in Victor Hugo's novel "The Hunchback of Notre Dame". Rose windows. Sculpture decoration. 3 pipe organs. Immense church bells. Symbol of the city of Paris and the French nation. Horrible fire 2019. Reopened December 2024. Free admission. We arrived around 12:00 pm. Mass is going on during our visit. When we finished and returned outside it was raining quite heavily.

Back at our apartment I decided to do a load of laundry. Only later did I realize I had put the dish washer packet in with the laundry instead of the laundry packet! But the clothes came out clean and smelling very nice.

Cafe des Musees. Dinner. Reservation for 7:15 pm. Uber from our apartment. Cost 12.47€/$14.60 This is a place I picked because of the great reviews for beef bourguignon. We both ordered that. It came in a cute little pot with a side of mashed potatoes. It was great. Tender chunks of beef, rich and yummy gravy/sauce, vegetables al dente the way we like. For drinks I get a glass of cider and Richard has the lemonade. Service was fantastic. Cost 69.00€/$80.81 Uber back to our apartment. Cost 12.71€/$14.88

I'm hoping Richard will feel better tomorrow. If not I may have to try to find a doctor for him. He's coughing up phlegm that is yellow, yellow/green. Sign of infection I believe. And you need a doctor's prescription to get antibiotics for an infection. None of the over the counter meds we've bought has really made him better. We walked 1.73 miles today.
